2/25/06- Well, I certainly took my swet time updating, didn't I? X_x;; Yikes. Sorry about that, but I do have a bunch of new stuff to make up for it. First of all, I've changed the layout, which now features a drawing of the lovely Miss Kaylee Fry, of Firefly fame. Some of the interior pages have also been cleaned up, to make navigation easier. Everglow has also been updated with a new layout-- featuring Kaylee and Inara-- to celebrate my first forray into Firefly fic. "Mechanic's Waltz" is a Kaylee/Inara piece, written as a Christmas gift for likethesun2. And speaking of new fandoms, I've my brain being eaten by Smallville, specifically the Holy Clex. So, there are two new Clark/Lex fics up in Everglow as well-- the first is a stand alone called "The Body in Falling Stars", and the second is the prologue for a longer fic called "World Shaking Down". Finally, there's also a new BSG fic up called "Every Girl Who Shares My Face"-- it's Tyrol/Boomer, as usual.
There's also a new Harry Potter fic up in Goes Around-- it's called "Do Not Wish To Be Rare Like Jade", and it's a bittersweet Lily/Narcissa short. Finally, I've added a very brief Star Wars piece called "Objects in Motion", written as a Christmas present for leia_naberrie.
Whew! That's a lot of fic, isn't it? Hopefully this monsterous load was worth the wait! As always, I'd love to hear what you think. You can reach me here, or on my live journal.
Take care, loves~ Meredith
9/16/05- Dudes, has it been another year already? It's September 16th again, so it must be-- that means today is Horizon's fifth birthday! Five years? *boggles* Hard to believe. This place is a long way from its original Angelfire incarnation. For one thing, the site now houses 121 fics. I *told* you guys I wrote enough fic to choke the whole cavalry. ^^;;
Anyway, the updates. This layout's covergirl is the beautiful and tough Sharon Valleri (aka Boomer), of the new Battlestar Galactica series. I have two brand-new fics up for this series under 'Everglow'. They're het, too. (And you thought I only did that for Star Wars these days, didn't you? ^_~ I was surprised too.) Everglow also has a new Buffy fic up called 'Each Time You Tell The Story'. It's a short Spike/Xander fic, set in season two. Finally, the second part of the "Each Shard of the Mirror" series has been added to the Star Wars section. In terms of general housekeeping, I've updated the woefully inacurate story stats under 'Info', and posted a new pic under 'The EMS'. As always, I'd love for you to drop me a line. You can do it either here, or on my live journal.
Stay sweet, darlings. Here's to another great year! ^__^ ~Meredith
7/30/05- Wow, I actually kept my promise! X_x Scary, huh? I've uploaded all the fics I wrote in the spring/early summer, so Horizon is now completely up to date. The most obvious change is the new layout, which features the beautiful Japanese/French actress, Devon Aoki. In the fic department, I've added three new chapters/stories to Everglow. One is a short character piece for the USA sci fi series The 4400. The other two are BtVS: a new chapter of 'Empty of Tomorrow' and a new story called 'Just As Far To Go Back'. Both are heavy on the angst and Spike/Xander. ^__^ Finally, I changed the layout in the Harry Potter section, which was seriously looking neglected. I hope you enjoy! As always, I'd love to hear what you think! You can contact me on my live journal, or email me-- I promise I don't bite. My muse, on the other hand... ^_~
Take care, dolls~ Meredith
7/24/05- This is actually only a partial update. I still need to change the layout for this site and add more stories to 'Everglow' but, in the meantime, I thought I'd post what I've finished so far. 'Glass Halo' has been updated with a new layout, plus two new Star Wars fics, both post ROTS. The first story is "A Key To Something, Somewhere", a fairly long one-shot that twists the end of ROTS and carries Padme into the Classic Trillogy. The second is a shorter one-shot, "Each Shard of the Mirror", taking place during the funeral scene. I hope you enjoy-- there should be more stories up soon. Feedback, as always, makes me giggle and squeal and make a fool of myself, so I'd be delighted if you took a moment to drop me a loing. You can contact me on my live journal, or email me, if you feel so kind.
I hope you're having a wonderful summer~ Meredith
4/4/05- Wow, I sure took my time with the updates, didn't? *sweatdrop* Well, on the upside, I have a new layout and-- more importantly-- a bunch of new fics for you. First of, all this round's layout features the beautiful (and insane) Drusilla, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yup, it's another new fandom. In fic news, there's a new short MASH story called 'Between the Cracks'. Also, under the 'misc fandom' section, I've added two short Buffy fics, 'Lines in the Sand' and 'Sunlight in My Cradle', along with the first chapter of a longer fic, 'Empty of Tomorrow'. The misc fandom section has a new layout, finally-- this one featuring scans for Hamasaki Ayumi's 'A Ballads' album. Wow... X_x I might actually been productive, or something. Scary. ^_~ Remember: feedback makes me happy as a clam so I'd be delighted to get some, if the mood should strike you. Drop me a line on my live journal, or email me, if you feel so kind. Carol and I love you muchly, we do. ^__^
Stay sweet, sugars~ Meredith
1/2/05- Happy New Year, ladies and gentlemen! I hope you all had fun ushering in the Year of the Rooster. (Okay, so it won't officially be the Year of the Rooster until the Chinese New Year, in February, but you know what I mean. ^_~) I thought I'd kick off the new year by offering two fics... the first is "Through the Gates", a Harry Potter femslash piece; the second is "Street of Dreams", a gen Band of Brothers story written for this year's Berlin By Christmas Secret Santa. ^_^ I don't have much more to add, as I'm busy panicking about having to go back to class tomorrow. It seems like break just started... where does the time go? X_x Y'all know I live on feedback, so feel free to leave some on my live journal, or email me, if you feel so kind. ^__^ Carol shall surely love you forever, yes. ^_~
Take Care, Loves~ Meredith
12/07/04- It's been a while, but boy do I have some updates for you! The beautiful Zhang Ziyi has been replaced by the equally beautiful Natalie Portman as cover girl for our twenty-nineth layout. (*boggles* Twenty-nine! X_X) In addition, Glass Halo and Internal Destination have layout changes. But now, on to the important stuff-- the stories! First off, there's a new chapter of 'One Familiar Face' up in the Stargate section. The recent ROTS trailer has propelled me back into the Star Wars fandom, so there's a new short fic there called 'Falling is Like This'. Most unbelievable of all, however, is the fact that there are two-- count them, two!-- new chapters of 'The Widow Skywalker' posted. Over a year of not touching that story, and suddenly my muse attacks me! Carol is insane. The guestbook is still out of order, but you can drop me a line on my live journal, or email me, if you feel so kind. ^__^
Stay as sweet as you are, sugars~ Meredith
9/16/04- It's the 16th of September... do you know what that means? It's Horizon's 4th birthday! (And _that_ means I need to get my head checked. ^^;;;) Four years on the 'net... whew. Aside from the new layout (which features the lovely Chinese model/moviestar Zhang Ziyi), there are new layouts in the Everglow and Mash sections. Not to mention the fact I've actually written something! The first three chapters of a new fic called "One Familiar Face" are up under the Stargate section. The guestbook is out of order so, should you feel kind, please feed my muse.
-Meredith
6/15/04- I meant to change the layout-- to make it more obvious I've updated-- but I didn't have time. (You'll see why in a minute. ^_~) *sigh* However, instead of flashy images, I bring fic! ^_^ Three, actually. The first is for Stargate SG-1, a Jack/Daniel piece centering around the season seven episode "Fragile Balance". The other two are both for Band of Brother's Winters/Nixon pairing-- "Down Endless Street" and "In Scorching Glass". You can find those in the Everglow section. As always, I thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my ramblings. I've actually set up a little poll, if I could trouble you a bit more to go vote. ^_^
NOTICE: For the next three weeks (June 16th-July 8th) I will be in Japan. That's right, I'm doing it again! *squeals with barely concealed excitement* My friend and I are flying into Oosaka, staying two weeks near Fuji-yama, and then I will be traveling to stay with a family in Narita and work with their daughter as an English tutor. ^___^ I can't believe my luck. *hugs everyone* I'll be back, so be good while I'm gone. (And if you can't be good, be careful! ^_~)
Take care, loves-- Meredith
5/2/04- Kochira e dozo! As always, I must thank you for taking the time to stop by and see what's going on. I still haven't really gotten a chance to do the clean-out I wanted to. Taking fifteen credit hours this quarter was a bit much, I think-- I'm exhausted! However, I _do_ come bearing fics! As you can see, I also had time to change the main layout. Version 27 features Hannah from the utterly creepy British film '28 Days Later'. She's such an understated, interesting character... I fell in love with her right away. There's also a new layout for the misc fandoms, in honor of the addition of one more vice to my list. ^_~ That's right, I've adopted the "Band of Brothers" fandom-- hey, I heard that snickering! Ahem.
And now for the fics. First off, there's a side story for 'The Widow Skywalker' up in the Star Wars section. It's called 'In a Faint, Uncertain Voice' and deals with Leia's memories of her mother, and of Vader. In the Harry Potter section, chpater four of 'You Only Say You're Sorry' has been posted, and the misc fandom section now houses my first Band of Brothers fic, 'There Must Be a Word'. Look out for yourselves, darlings-- remember, not too long until school's out! ^_^ I would be deliriously happy if you'd sign the guest book guestbook or feed my muse if you get the chance. Love~ Meredith
3/28/04- We have fics! My goal over spring break was to completely update the site-- post fics, fanart, redo the MASH site, Everglow, Passing Storm and clean things out. This was only partially accomplished. *sigh* In fact, I can't think of a single productive thing I did all break, save the laundry, which doesn't count. But I did write! (this does not count, either, because none of my current WIPs were finished. *double sigh*)
We do have a new layout for the main site, featuring screen caps from Hamasaki Ayumi's "Kanariya" PV. Gorgeous, ne? And, we have another sub site on the menu for... *drum roll* Harry Potter. Yup, ANOTHER fandom. Someone shoot me, and do it quickly. ^_~ "Goes Around" is my new HP archive, and the fact that in little over a month I've written enough fics to MAKE an archive... well, yeah. *sheepish*
In terms of actual fics, Chapter Four of my Sentinel fic-- "Cradle on the Water" has een posted in the Misc section. The first three chapters of a Harry Potter fic called "You Only Say You're Sorry" have been posted, along with four short stories. "I Can't Be the One Who Cares" is Harry/Snape, "Woods Forsaken" and "Many Are the Deceivers" are Sirius/Remus, and "What Rough Beast" is a gen piece about Tom Riddle. In other news, I've finally given in and gotten a LiveJournal-- mostly for fic posting and related nonsense. You can find me under the username 'garnettrees', or just follow the link on the main page. Toodles darlings-- I hope your Spring Breaks go/have gone well. Please take care of yourselves! ^_^ Also, don't forget to sign the guest book guestbook or feed my muse if you get the chance. Love~ Meredith.
2/4/04- First update of the New Year, which just so happens to be the Year of the Monkey (I think. ^^;). Anyway-- I have to hug all the people that have signed up on my updates-list. *blush* There all so many! So, you all get tons of love and chocolate. ^_^;; And a HUGE update as well!
Getting things started with housekeeping, version 25 of Horizon features Joey Wong from the movie "The East is Red". It's an awesome Chinese Kung-fu film with a great shoujo ai bent-- so check it out if you get the chance. "The EMS" section has been overhauled, and some new comments have been added to "Smile and Nod".
In fanfiction-- there's a new M*A*S*H fic ("From the Department of Letters Best Not Sent") up to go with the new layout in that section. It's very blue. X_X And-- don't keel over here-- but I've actually updated a Star Wars fic! And it's "From Where Ever I am to You", of all things! Chapters five and six have been submitted for your approval, along with a new layout to celebrate. This, too, is very blue. It's a blue invasion! @_@;;; Oh, and the Stargate section has new layout that actually ISN'T BLUE. It's green. So I feel better. -_-;;
Paintbox has also been updated with a new layout and loads of new 'art' (well, it's by me, soo... ^^ Yeah.). There are three new Star Wars pics, one new LOTR and one new M*A*S*H pic. Thanks so much for stopping by! You are all simply dolls. Don't forget to feed the muse or at least sign the guestbook! ^_^
12/18/03- [sings] 'Yuki ga furimasu!' Ohio will never be as pretty or inspiring as Rhode Island, but at least it snows here, too. I don't think we're going to have to dream of a white Christmas/Hanukah here-- I think we're just going to GET one! Anyway. Exams are finished, used books have been cashed in and we have _updates_. Most obviously, we have a new layout featuring (don't look at me like that! ^_~) Natalie Portman at the tender and very cute age of fifteen. Awwww... The images are from a French film she stared in, though I don't know the name. This layout is kind of-- well, pink, isn't it? Speaking of new layouts, Everglow, the misc fandom section has a new look featuring Jessica 6 from the movie "Logan's Run".
"Paintbox" has been updated with a beautiful gift piece for my M*A*S*H fic, Persimmon, as done by the wonderful M.K., and-- speaking of M*A*S*H-- I posted the final two chapter's of the Uncanny Leigh & Meredith Collaboration, "Everyone's a Stranger". We'd both really love to know what you think, so don't be shy. Also, I've posted the first three chapters of "Cradle on the Water", my very first Sentinel fic! I know, I know. I need a new fandom like I need a hole in my head. Actually, the hole would probably be more useful. *sigh* The story pairing is Jim/Blair-- you know, once you start down the path of slash (*cue yoda voice*) forever will it dominate your destiny. Like I really needed to warn you.
Here's hoping you guys all have wonderful holidays, no matter what you celebrate! Take care, darlings, and don't forget to sign the guestbook.
10/21/03- Alright, so I was caught up in the swirling mass of insanity most know as 'Real Life'. Truly terrifying, I assure you, but hopefully I've managed to at least get back to the point of treading water. *smiles brightly* Okay, enough of that! As you can see, we have a new layout-- this time featuring Scarlett O'Hara and Melanie Hamilton from "Gone With the Wind". The two are such a study in contrasts that it's amazing, yet in the end you can tell that Scarlett cares for Melly. And at least this layout isn't blindingly yellow!
In the content updates, we have a new chapter of "Everyone's A Stranger" under the MASH heading. I also finally did some work on "Passing Storm", the archive for my older works. It now has a new layout, and the broken links have been fixed (thanks to 'she who never uses the same name' for pointing them out!). Glass Halo has a new (very blue) layout, as well. Hopefully I'll get some actual writing done soon!
Take care, darlings, and don't forget to sign the guestbook.
9/16/03- Wow... this layout is really... YELLOW. X_X Not a color I usually use, but I was trying to be festive. After all, today is Horizon's third birthday! My little baby is growing up. *over dramatic sniffles* Right... ^_~
This layout features Suzuki Ami, a jpop artist and voice actor for anime. Really, I just liked the picture. ^_^
As for actual updates, we have two new fics. One is a short Stargate piece called "It's Gotten Me Thinking", and the other is the third chapter of my Uncanny Co-Fic with Leigh, "Everyone's a Stranger". I do hope you enjoy!
Don't forget to sign the guestbook! I promise I'll love you forever! ^_~
9/4/03- Remember that big, honk'n update I was promising you? Well, it's here! ^_^ Please bear with me as I list all the changes... X_X First off, we have a new layout, featuring Beau, from "Signs". For such a young actress, the girl did a wonderful job and really made the movie more enjoyable for me. "There's a monster outside my window. Can I have a glass of water?" *giggles nervously*
As for content, I have revamped "A Strange Unearthly Glow", using images from Naoko's beautiful wedding artbook drawing. If you had the page itself linked, you'll need to follow the new one on the Horizon main page. Not only has the library been redone, but there's an actual, new piece of SM fanfiction! I know... don't die die of shock, or anything. Chapter One of "Catch the Wind" has been posted-- I do hope you enjoy. You know my policy on feedback-- ie, I'm a pathetic addict. ^_~
"Internal Destination" has also been updated with a new layout (made with images from the very slashy ep, "Torment of Tantalus") and a whole slew of new fics. All four chapters of my first attempt at SG humor, "A Man and His Plushie" are available, as well as a more serious short fic, "Wake Us and We Drown".
"At Least You Have Me" also got some new duds-- a layout featuring an image of Hawk and BJ that I edited myself. Not to mention the official arrival of "Everyone's A Stranger". This is a co-fic the glorious Leigh B and I have been working on since February! It's finally finished, and now the first two chapters are up for your entertainment. This is our baby, so feedback is escpecially appreciated.
"Paintbox" has five new images in the repository-- including two SG-1 pieces by me and two gifts by the hideously talented Marina. ^_^
Lastly, Horizon has a whole bunch of new link buttons up under the Junkdrawer. Linking is good! ;-)
Don't forget to sign the guestbook!
8/29/03- I'm still working on a really big update, but I figured I ought to post something so you guys would know I'm not dead, or kidnapped by aliens, or trapped in some warped alternate reality. ^_~ So! The last four chapters of "Or Else No Flesh Should Live" are up in the Stargate section. I hope you'll take the time to read it, if the fancy strikes you, and send feedback. ^_^ Comments make my evil mad scientist heart go pitter-patter. Also, don't forget to sign the guestbook!
7/20/03- Well, I didn't get lost in Japan, obviously. ^_^ Actually, I ended up having to come home rather early, but things have been so nutty that this is the first chance I've had to really sit down and update things. Japan was beautiful and amazing-- the culture shock was kind of interesting too. I mean, simple things like buildings, trees, eating... they all took on a new dimension. I guess that sounds silly, but it's true. I enjoyed shopping at Osukan, and I have to tell you I really enjoy the two main types of Japanese transportation: subway and bicycles. Anyway, enough of my babbling!
As you can see, we have a new layout, featuring the lovely Amaunett, or Stargate:SG-1 fame. We've reached version twenty, can you believe it? Other than this little note, I only fixed up two tiny housekeeping notes. First, the guestbook is up and working again-- Bravenet decided to rearrange things, with informing little ol' me. Also, "Paintbox" has been reorganized and revamped, updated with three of my pieces and several beautiful gift images by Suzume, Ai, and Marina. Feedback and fanart truly make a little writer like myself happy. Hopefully, I'll have something more for you soon.
It's great to be back!
6/10/03- This update is dedicated to "she who never signs my guestbook under the same name"-- you're a doll, my dear.
Alright! As you can see, we have another rather large update. Fact is, I'm leaving for Japan in two days, so I figured I ought to give this place a good cleaning before I go. Thusly, we have a new layout featuring Claudia from 'Interview with a Vampire', and a whole slew of fic updates. First off, we have a new subsite-- Internal Destination, housing the insane number of Stargate fics I've suddenly written. New Stargate fics include: "For What It's Worth", "You'll Never Really Know", "Her Kingdom" and two new parts of "Or Else No Flesh Should Live".
Everglow has also been updated with two new B5 pieces, "The Dying Country" and a new part of "Future Games".
Finally, there's a new M*A*S*H fic up called "Ashes, Ashes".
I hope you guys enjoy the new stuff-- I can't thank you enough for just taking the time to stop by. I'll miss my internet connection whilst in Japan, that's for sure. ^_~
5/2/03- Massive update this time around, dolls and guys! ^_^ Obviously, we have a new layout-- this time in blue and featuring the character Katie from "Ghost Ship". That movie would have been wonderful if it weren't for that first scene... X_X Talk about gore! @_@ Anyway, I've also done a little reorganization; the B5 and CCS sites were kinda small and just sitting there, so I merged all my miscellanious fandoms into one site, Everglow. Along with the aforementioned fandoms, there are also fics there for CUBE and Stargate. Right! Also, the M*A*S*H site has changed its name-- "At Least You Have Me". I realized section eights didn't have much to do with the fics. More like blue discharge. ^_~;;; Right. Also, I think I've fixed the bug with the M*A*S*H site. Thanks to everyone who emailed me to inform me of the problem. Oh! We also have some new link banners, and a new section called 'info', for stats and that sort of nonsense.
Now, onto the important stuff-- FIC UPDATES. I have four new pieces up; "Both Parties Call Victory" (M*A*S*H), "The Courtship of Corpral Klinger" (M*A*S*H), "For They Are Only Clean, Clear Numbers" (CUBE2) and "We Play Only For Keeps" (Stargate:SG1). In addition, I should warn you that the Sailor Moon section is going to go under some extensive rennovations over the next few days, so things might get a little messy. Sorry about that! Chocolates, kisses, and don't forget to sign the guestbook!
3/22/03- I have a surprise for you. ^_~ But you have to guess first. Go on, guess! *giggles* Alright, alright, I finally got off my ever-plumping rear and wrote a new chapter of "The Widow Skywalker"! I can't thank everyone enough for being patient with me while I worked through my block on that story. Other than that and a layout change in Glass Halo, there's nothing new to add. Yeah, I know, no MASH fics this time-- what _is_ the world coming to? ^^;;
Kisses, and don't forget to sign the guestbook!
2/25/03- Looks like not even Horizon is safe from my tendency towards Padme-themed layouts. ^^;; Actually, the photo-shoot is really just Natalie Portman, posing for a French magazine. Isn't she divine? I'm actually very happy with this layout-- despite the strange fact it's green. ^__^;; I'm actually in a bit of a writer's block right now but, as I stated before, I have a backlog of finished M*A*S*H fics, so you guys get new stories anyway. I think I'm moving back in the Star Wars direction, now. Anyway, 'Gimme a Section Eight' has a new layout and seven new stories: "And Your Body Shall Haunt Mine", "In Case of Emergency", "What You See From Where You're Standing", "Make Room For Me", "Who Will Protect You From the Things That You Say", "You Can't Hold On Forever", and "Who's Face I Won't Even Remember". Whew, that's a lot! In the Star Wars department, I fixed up Chapter Three of "Faces in the Passageway".
In housekeeping, aside from the new layout, I added a bunch of new M*A*S*H links. Among them is the site belonging to the ever-wonderful Iolanthe, which you should definitely check out. Also, I posted some new mash and star wars themed link buttons. Kisses, and don't forget to sign the guestbook!
1/25/03- I seem to be on a M*A*S*H kick as of late-- this is the first fandom I've actually had a backlog of finished fics for! X_X The world may well be coming to an end, since this is the girl notorious for not finishing things. ^__^ Maybe there's hope for me after all. So, in the M*A*S*H department, I have three new fics for you. "A Still, Small Voice", "All False Things" and "Persimmon" (an F/F piece! WOOOHOO! ^^;), all under the short stories heading. Also, Glass Halo has gotten a make-over, since the yellow layout was getting on my nerves. Until next time, please sign the guestbook. Take care, darlings!
1/11/03- Wow, yet another year has flown by-- there were points where it seemed to pass too slowly, but also times that went all too quickly. I suppose that's life. ^_^ So, here we have the first update of the New Year. As always, I thank you for bothering to stop by. In the fic arena, I have three, count them, three new M*A*S*H fics up in "Gimme a Section Eight!"; "Just as Fatal" (which is a post ep for C*A*V*E), "The Danger of Following White Rabbits" (a post ep for "Taking the Fifth") and a short fic called "I May Know The Word". I certainly hope you enjoy! My muse (Carol) is crazy about MASH right now, but hopefully I can rope her into cooperating for more of the "Widow Skywalker". Speaking of which-- I have the utter honor to be nominated for the Jedi Council Winter 2002 Fan Fic Awards! "The Widow Skywalker" is up for final voting in the Reader's Choice section. @_@ It makes me dizzy! And, as if that wasn't enough, I have also been blessed to win a place in the Usa/Mamo Top 25 of 2002! That's right, "The Will of Heaven" placed 15th! I just can't believe it.... Thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to comment and feedback-- you're all angels.
Finally, on to house keeping notes. As you can see, we have a new layout-- Horizon's sixteenth, can you believe it? The cover girl is again Ayumi Hamasaki, in her younger days as a model. Isn't she adorable? "Move the Stars" has also received a make-over, featuring a glorious doujinshii image of Tomoyo and Sakura. "Gimme a Section Eight" no longer looks like someone threw up khaki on the background. ^_~ That's about it for now! Thanks for listening to me ramble, and-- if the spirit moves you-- please sign the guestbook.
